@iamTalkyTina’s #TrueFriends Orchestra

@iamTalkyTina’s #TrueFriends Orchestra,” animatedGIF by @iamTalkyTina (click to enlarge)

Well, The Daily Create, tdc1998, says to show your Fantasy Band, but I actually have one, called The @iamTalkyTina’s #TrueFriend Orchestra. It has all peoples in it who are on my True Friends Index and have a #TrueFriends badge, except for one who still has to put in her application (not saying any names.)

You can figure out who all of the #TrueFriends are (if you do not already know them) by looking at my True Friends Index and matching them to their badges.

Instead of giving away all of the answers, I will just say this for attributions:

Plus, because I added a ringer to the Orchestra just today, you should check out her music which I am listening to right now.

Which is really cool, because I remember the ukulele version, too!

On the Planet, Creato!

“On the Planet, Creato!” animated GIF by @iamTalkyTina (click picture for a super big GIF of it!)

Well, for The Daily Create, tdc1992, there was a new planet discovered for #ds106 peoples, and it was called the planet, Creato. Some of my #ds106 friends and I went there to check it out, and it is SO BEAUTIFUL. It is also a magical place, and the magical powers of creation effected each of us in different ways. Some of us got bigger, or smaller, some of us had big hands or if you watched pretty closely, a panting tongue or a waggy tail, but we all had fun exploring.

The friends that were along with me on the Planetary Expedition 106 were: Colin Dog, John Johnston, Dancing UNCLE @jimgroom, Spike, FelixADog, Bill Smith, and of course, me, @iamTalkyTina

Maybe you will visit the planet, Creato, and learn to Make Art with #TrueFriends, too!

With Tasty Results!

“With Tasty Results,” image by @iamTalkyTina using Flickr Lunes by @johnjohnston

Well, it was just too much fun making a Flickr Lunes one this morning and so when I saw a tweet that it wasn’t working, I had to check it out again and it was still working so I had another one done so I had to decide if I should throw out an Art or share it. It is never a fun time to throw out Art, so I am sharing it.

This is a second one of The Daily Create, tdc1991 to make a Flickr Lunes using the web tool that is made by my TrueFriend, John Johnston (@johnjohnston, on Twitter).

Make a CREATORIST Lune! Get Certified!

“Creatorist instruction Lune,” by @iamTalkyTina

So, today’s The Daily Create, tdc1991, says to make a Lune . A Lune is like a special haiku that is words instead of syllables, and 353 instead of 575.  That means it needs to be three words, five words, three words, instead of five syllables, seven syllables, five syllables.

My true friend @johnjohnston made a website called Flickr Lunes to help you make a loon. All you have to do is search a picture from the Internet that is already pre-approved for remix. Then you type in your words.  The you pick top, middle, or bottom, and then press the button to make it. Then you just download it and post it on your blog post.

Good luck to all the peoples! Only nine more to go (except for all the ones that you missed and you have to go back and do still!)   But if you need a little extra incentive, then here it is because when it is all done, there will be a special commemorative T-shirt that you can order that will have all of the certified peoples on it so that you can show off your CREATORIST certification to strangers.  Join the privilege of being in this special first cohort!

Keep on creating, bub!

Heavy Metal Bands for #ds106 True Friends

Well, this was just a twitter one that I did one night, but since I just mentioned it in Don’t Make It Too Easy, John!  I figured I should make it into a blog post of it. It was because my True Friend  Mr. Paul (@phb256 on Twitter) wanted to know if I had a Heavy Metal Band.

"Does Tina Have a Band?" said by @phb256 on Twitter.

“Does Tina Have a Band?” said by @phb256 on Twitter.

So, there is a thing on the Internet that you click and it makes a random Heavy Metal Band name for you.. So I decided to use it to find a special band back for Mr. Paul:

for @phb256

"InRentedRapture" for @phb256

“InRentedRapture” for @phb256

After that,  I just sat there on the Internet and clicked it for hours and hours, picking out the gems of it that worked for some of my other True Friends.

So here are the good ones that it made:

for @cogdog

"Dog Tails in Bike Spokes" band for my Still True Friend @cogdog

The last one here for UNCLE Jim is the one that I also put into John’s Dance Jim Dance automatic GIF-maker when I said Don’t Make It Too Easy, John!

Plus, I didn’t think about it then, but it could also be Hippy MOOCS Laughter or Hippy MOOC Slaughter depending on how you are feeling on that particular day.

Well, bye!

Don’t Make it Too Easy, John!

Well, my True Friend John (@johnjohnston on Twitter) is a GIFfriend Master who also likes to teach a computer how to make a GIF for you.

A recent experiment by John allows just anybody to just upload a picture and press a button and make a Dancing Jim one of UNCLE Jim (@jimgroom on Twitter) without any hard work at all.

I decided that I would try it out with a couple of pictures I had left lying around from when I did Heavy Metal Bands for #ds106 True Friends and also Movie Posters Without Any Icons from last time.

Here is what I made with John’s one-click GIF-JIm-Dancing.

Plus, because it has a special place in his heart, here is one where UNCLE Jim is Escaping from New York.

It sure is easy, but it makes the Dancing Jim All Over the World assignment already into an even easier one so that is only one star.

Which might be a short term save for you at the last minute on a Sunday night early on in the course, but it won’t stretch your real skillz, plus it’s not nearly as much fun as doing them the proper way.

All About “The Wire”

One Story / Four Icon Twilight Zone Episode Challenge #1

One Story / Four Icon Twilight Zone Episode Challenge #1

The key to a successful installation is tautness. If it is not taut then it will not work very well.

Another important thing is height. If it is too high, it will not work. It might stop them, and they might say “Hey, what is this?” but it will not have the proper effect. If it is too low, they might miss it. So height is important that it be just right.

Next, invisibleness is important. If they see it, then they will stop before they get to it, and you will have lost the important effect of surprise.

Another important thing is where. If you put it at the bottom, then when it happens there will not be very much distance before they stop. It is important that there be lots of distance, so that gravity can do most of the work. Plus, if they are going the other way, then they might just bonk their nose or something, and then they would say “Hey, what is this?” like in the up above one.

Time of day is also critical factor. In the daytime there is lots of light, and that makes it harder for the invisibleness, which is a factor I already talked about. Plus, in the daytime there might be other people around who would hear it happen and might come to help. So nighttime is the best. In the night time, it can be like they were stumbling around like an idiot in the dark and so that is why it happened.

Plus, safety for others in and around the place is critical. You do not want any of your True Friends to be adversely impacted. Make sure they are safe in bed and asleep so that they will not experience it themselves. Remember, you’re doing this FOR them, not TO them.

Last, let me talk to little bit about your stealth and tradecraft. If they see you, it might be a warning. So surprise is an important factor. But, if they see you just after it happens, that might be okay because then they will understand in those last final seconds that they should’ve been nice. Of course, gloves are an important utility to have with you because of fingerprints. I am lucky because I don’t have any on my fingers, but I still sometimes wear a nice black pair for effect. They match my ninja suit.

Proper cleanupis also critical. Afterwards, remove it and any scratch marks that it might have left on the banister. Always leave the workplace the way you found it.

Well, I hope that none of my True Friends ever have to use this strategy, but if you do, you can do so knowing that you have had guidance and clear instruction from one who knows. Plus, remember that my professional services can always be engaged, should you have need of them.

Submitted for The Daily Create, tdc1005 “That @jimgroom and @phb256 are running “Wire106″, all about TV drama “The Wire”. They love that show. Bless ‘em.

Me, Riding the ds106 Bus, with Music !!

"Further Bumpy2" animatedGIF by @Todd_Conaway

“Further Bumpy2” animatedGIF by @Todd_Conaway

Well!

My True Friend Todd (@Todd_Conaway, on Twitter) made a GIF of me from the YouTube movie that he made called The ds106 Bus. In it, you can see me with my friends Martha (@mburtis), Jim (@jimgroom), Doctor Oblivion, and Michael (@mbransons). and so I got the music from the video and put it behind the GIF so that if you click on it, you can hear it!

So click on the GIF up above to hear it! Listen to the whole thing! You can also click on the GIF again to stop the music, but why would you?

Thanks AGAIN, to my True Friend, John (@JohnJohnston, on Twitter) for the great click-on-a-GIF-to-hear-music trick.

And thanks to Todd, for putting me on the bus!

Bye!

———————

Plus, if you want to know how I got the music out of the YouTube, here is what I did.
1) I downloaded the video from YouTube using my handy MacX YouTube Downloader.
2) I opened the video using Quicktime and exported (audio only) into an .m4a
3) I opened the m4a of it using Audacity, and exported it as both an .mp3 and an .ogg.
4) Then, I used John’s click-on-a-GIF-to-hear-it trick.

Talky Tina Goes to Work

“Stopping by the Old Office” by iamtalkytina, on Flickr

Well! It is a time to come out of the wooden work and get back to some ds106 goodness! And to Make Some Art, Bub!

My Still True Friend Alan (@cogdog, on Twitter) is having a new course of ds106 Digital Storytelling Community and it will be a great time for me to have some new people be my Friends.

In other times, I have had Open Friends and New Friends, and especially True Friends (they get badges!) but this time I think I will have Work Friends. Those will be new friends of mine from Alan who is teaching a course of Work ds106 for people at George Mason University, and it is called DS106 Storytelling Goes to Work. And he even has a suitcase for it.

So. I wrote before some ideas that I had that people should do and so just in case you missed the details when Alan said then you might find some reminders from me in my post called Some Advice for My Newest Friends.

I will be making a new page for Work Friends and putting it up in my menu bar space where it will be easy to find. And when I get names and blog names and twitter and the such. And I will be using my various special skills to help people when I can to do their work.

Plus, it is time to Make Some Art, Bub — and that UNCLE @jimgroom should not be having his Art Lack any more. Plus other people in ds106 Community. Like I saw already that my True Friends Rowan (@rowan_peter, on Twitter) made office work messages to Todd (@Todd_Conaway, on Twitter) and to Mariana (@mdvfunes, on Twitter), plus Tom (@twoodwar, on Twitter) and John (@johnjohnston, on Twitter) who made a GIF TV, and I got my own channel (press #12), plus a cow (@annycow, on Twitter).

So, I will probably take my ds106 work with me when I am on missions and might not be in that old office much, but I will still be doing my creating and things.

But you should make sure you click on all the links up above before you go do anything else. There is lots of good stories in those links.

And hello to all the GMU peoples who will be new Work Friends of me!

Well, bye!

Would You Like Pancakes with Planes?

"Would You Like Some More Pancakes, with Planes?" animated GIF by @iamTalkyTina

“Would You Like Some More Pancakes, with Planes?” animated GIF by @iamTalkyTina

Well, it was a while ago that I tweeted to @jimgroom saying he should make some Art, bub and make two things (thing 1, thing 2) into #ds106 assignments. And do them, too. But I was on a mission and I didn’t see if he was awake or whatever, but then this morning I saw Rochelle (@Rockylou22, on Twitter) made a 3D brain of it and so I was asking if other people had made an assignment of it or what.

So after reading about it again and besides I was done with a mission, I decided to try to make one using the 3D GIF that I already did without lines and made into an assignment already before called Monster Chiller Horror Theatre 3D GIF for the August 2013 GIF Challenge #10 last summer.

While I was adding lines to it, Mariana (@mdvfunes, on Twitter) and Tom (@twoodwar, on Twitter) were doing a chat on the Twitter about it. So when the tweets popped up and Tom said z-axis then I added some more lines on different planes to my GIF to see if it would help explain it to people with their eyes.

Does this one help with 3 lines on 3 different planes?

"Would You Like Some More Pancakes, with 3 Planes" animated GIF by @iamTalkyTina

“Would You Like Some More Pancakes, with 3 Planes” animated GIF by @iamTalkyTina

It it, the up-and-down line on the left is on a plane that is a little bit behind the plane that the up-and-down line on the right is on and they are both behind the plane that the back-and-forth at the bottom in on.

Plus, this GIF below has yet another line on a Plane flying in the back of him.

"Would You Like Some More Pancakes, with 4 Planes" animated GIF by @iamTalkyTina

“Would You Like Some More Pancakes, with 4 Planes” animated GIF by @iamTalkyTina

In the z-axis explaining of it, it is kind of like layers in photoshop, with a plane behind him with a one back-and-forth line on it and one plane way out in front of him with a back-and-forth line on it and two planes in between them with up-and-down lines drawn on them. And then when he moves in the 3D move, he keeps breaking the planes (like layers in his life) that are drawn on the different planes from behind him out to in front of him.

So when I was doing this I think it helps to have a good 3D GIF type clip to start with where the thing that is going to break the planes is coming out of the middle or away from part of the thing that is not coming out of the planes. Like in the video with the music that Mariana said (see below, just remember to turn down your sound if you don’t like a song, but as for me, I was dancing) when his foot was swinging around or when his hand was swinging around but part of his middle body wasn’t.

Plus in the Pancake GIF I was thinking of doing his belly too but it wasn’t forward enough like the Pancakes are unless I made a different line for it so I didn’t. But I had to see that the plane for the plate wasn’t the same as one for his belly. But it would be funny to do his belly, too. But it would have too many planes then and it would cause congestion and possibly an accident.

Well, so that is my first attempt at it and a kind of explanation of it, but who is going to make it an assignment? It could be called Making 3D GIFS with Planes.
