If I Could Be An Animal …

“If I Could Be an Animal …” image by @iamTalkyTina

I have not given it too much thought, but I was thinking this morning when I read The Daily Create, tdc1988, that If I Could Be an Animal, maybe I would like to be …… a giraffe!

I was just thinking that if I were this choice, I would get a different perspective on life, and that is always a good thing.

Plus, it would help me with camouflage for when I am on missions, because it is difficult to see a giraffe when they blend into the background like that.

Also, if I were in tall grass, I would be able to pop up and look around, which I will confess is something I have always wanted to do better.

I think it would also be a very fun thing to be able to stretch out those very long legs and run very fast in a loping, graceful gait, instead of some kind of manic running with short legs that some people might notice if they ever saw me (but they never do, just sayin’).

So maybe I would pick giraffe.

@iamTalkyTina, Fotogenerated?

Well, The Daily Create, tdc1987 for today was an interesting one, because it said to use fotogenerator, which is on a website.

Now, I would never be one to ever use The Mean Word at a The Daily Create, because I don’t like The Mean Word. So I will just say nice things and do my gratitude for today’s The Daily Create, and that will be all that I will say.

The Attribution of It.

Here is what it says on the website. Thank you to these fine folks for making this fun experiment!

In This Case, It’s Other Reasons

“In this Case, It’s Other Reasons,” image by @iamTalkyTina for tdc1986

Well, The Daily Create, tdc1986 wants us to make an Unworthy one about trying not to scream, but with terrible terrible headlines, but make it fake, but if we can make it real, then we get bonus points. So I did a one like that, with a true commentary, and it has inclusion, plus I am speaking from my personal experience.

You can read more about Bathmophobia on this site, and you can read about Trump on all of the other ones. But don’t bother about the latter.

The Attributions of It:

I started like we were supposed to, by looking at the Upworthy Generator, to see what it was. After getting some ideas about how to make the words, I did a screen capture of it and then put it into Photoshop to change all the parts. Then I looked for bonus internet points to find an appropriate image to go with the headline that I made up all by myself. Plus, I put in lots of innuendo bits.

I used a font called Droid Serif for the headline. I used whatfontis.com plus my good judgement to make the selection.

I found the Upworthy logo and made a little editorial change to it.  I found the font Parafuse to use for the N after checking out other fonts like ChainsawGeometric, Blast-Beat, and DekoBlakk which all had a U like that but their N’s were wonky. For the little N in the big N, I just made it by hand out of pieces of the H. Today I found a lot of fonts on ffonts.net

I also found out a really cool site for next time called FontsInUse.com which can tell you which fonts are in use on different things like sites like Upworthy.com. So that might save us all some time another time.

I made the play button by selecting it using the Quick Selection Tool in Photoshop from a screen capture of a video and put it over the picture and made it grey with a white behind it.

The picture was made out of a screen capture from a video on Youtube.

Full Disclosure:

I changed the word “President” in the original CNN headline to “Trump” to make it more truthful and less generic. Plus, that is what CNN called it on YouTube and it has 484,000 hits for that in 0.43 seconds so a lot of people have written it on the Internet already to make that many hits of it.

Bridge Back to Brooklyn

“Movie Poster for ‘Bridge Back to Brooklyn,'” (animated GIF type) by @iamTalkyTina

It was a wonderful concept film, before its time, that pre-dated “The Man in the High Castle” and showcased a group of battle-weary but courageous army Marine Paratroop Combat Engineers battalion led by their fearless Sgt. Mermaid caught behind enemy lines in Manhattan who have to fight their way home to Brooklyn by fording the Hudson using their battle-ready flying docks to bridge the gap and get back to home soil.

We had some wonderful folks working on the film, including UNCLE @jimgroom in his first starring role (as Sgt. Mermaid), me, and @olhatchetJack, plus music soundtrack by that @dkernohan and @VivianRolfe, edited by my little brother @iamTalkyTodd, and with a host of other great talent rounding out the credits.

I think that The Daily Create. tdc1985 person must have just finished watching it because they must have been dreaming about it after eating too much popcorn and licorice and said to make a surrealistical movie poster about the basic plot of my film, ‘a mermaid rebuilds the Brooklyn Bridge out of paradoxes…” so I think you can see what I mean.

#TFW You See Your First Stairs of the Day

#TFW you see your first stairs of the day, and they are all curvy and swoopy and special and full of potential for all kinds of mischief and enjoyment and fun, and you get a tingly feeling that tells you today is going to be one of those fantastic days where everything is just going to go your way and you will have such a fine time, so you hop up and head out to start the morning  with glee in your steps and a smile on your face and singing happy songs inside your head as you look for new #TrueFriends and nobody makes any comments about your height or says the Mean Word at you.

This was one for The Daily Create, tdc1982 which says “ZOMG ROTL art! Create a TIL, TFW, ICYMI type tweet for what is going on in classic art.

The picture that I used is “Iron circular stair. Plate 425-N.” and it is by J.L. Mott Iron Works and it is  is licensed under CC0 1.0 which is called the attribution of it, which we also had to do as part of the instructions in today’s The Daily Create.

Portmeirion Flyovers

“Portmeirion Flyover,” animated GIF by @iamTalkyTina

Well, I was trying to get some nice maps working today, but you will have to settle for one that is a flyover type. There are some details that this GIF does not show (not to mention the Secret Tunnel Passages layer and @iamTalkyTina Hideouts maps that I was going to include) but they will have to wait for another day.

I tried to use the Map Stack thing but it didn’t seem to be able to find The Village, so I went to my old standby, Google Maps. Then I added some other information that I had on hand using my Photoshop, and then I put it into this GIF.

It would be a bit of a hard thing to connect the 3D map upstairs to the 2D one here, but you can use your imagination and pretend that I did it.

Also, if you have a hankering for The Village, here it is from a slightly different angle.

You can read all about some of my time here in The Village , and you can check out Prisoner106.us, which was a ds106 one from the summer of 2015.

Illogical Follies, See?

“Finger Man, of illogical follies, see?” animated GIF by @iamTalkyTina

So The Daily Create of yesterday, #tdc1980, said to make an Art about the fallacious reasoning of the politicians. So I looked at all the things that the Finger Man says when he is not sticking his finger up at the peoples, and I decided to make an Art of him out of all of the logical fallacies symbols. This is what they all look like.

Logical Fallacies poster from logicalfallacyis.com/poster

Logical Fallacies poster, from logicalfallacyis.com/poster

It is always a nice time when someone goes to all the trouble to put icons to all the different categories of something, and so I took all of those 24 icons and and then made a mosaic out of the famous Finger Man picture.

Plus, like him, it is a black and white picture with no grey, but it also goes flip flop back and forth like he does. But if you look close, you can see that he is made up of illogical follies, see?

Here is a bigger image of my Finger Man picture, in case you want a big PNG one to read all the codes without the flashing.

Get Off My Case

If you are on my case because this is a yesterday one, well I was doing it yesterday and had all the little icons in layers in my Photoshop, but when I saved it for supper I saved it as a .png, they were all lost when I went back. So I had to start all over. Plus, those icons are tiny.

But How Did you Do It, Tina, You Say?

Well, first I was using an app on my iPad called Photo Mosaica, and it kind of worked, but I needed more grains of granularity to really see the scowl on his face.

“I need more Grains of Granularity,” image from Photo Mosaica on my iPad, by @iamTalkyTina.

So then I looked on my App Store for my computer, and found a different one called Mosaik with a k, and it let me do things like how many (which makes them smaller) and background go away, and use some or use them all. Plus I also tried “Weighted,” but it made them weird.

So all of this was a fun experiment, and it was fun to learn to use new apps to make Art.

One day I will make a picture of me made up of all my #TrueFriends. Because you are who your friends are.

Just like Finger Man is made of illogical follies, see?

#Peace Music Playlist

My hit song was re-released today, just for special, because The Daily Create, tdc1979 is asking for us to share our favourite song of #peace for the #PeaceMusicPlaylist.

If you want the full story of this great song, as well as the lyrics to sing along with, you can check out the original posting, Tina Don’t Like The Mean Word.

Enjoy!

Nordic Leaders Summon Tina!

I have a special kit available by my email order business for just those times when #TrueFriends need to get in touch for an Emergency. It is called iamTalkyTina Emergency Beacon.

I had a special call come in just last week from some special #TrueFriends over in the old countries. Of course I grabbed my Go Bag and was wheels up in my jet within 30 minutes.

This is picture that was in the news of when they turned on the beacon. For The Daily Create, tdc1978, “What are the Nordic Ministers Summoning?”

á la latté Tina

“á la latté Tina,” photograph by @iamTalkyTina

Well, it was so nice this morning as I was reading up on my favourite web site and having my mid-morning lattë at the Starbucks that I saw that today’s The Daily Create #tdc1976 was a lattê one. I don’t think I have done a latté one  for The Daily Create before, and so it was just a synchronistic thing that I was having one when it was made.

Well, because it was a special day for a The Daily Create lattç, I went back to the Barista person and told them it was okay to let me use their machine to make my own special topping, and if I do say so, it turned out quite well, and even looks like me!

In case you don’t have a way with the Barista or if you don’t have the skills, then you might want to try to game The Daily Create by doing yours with an image editor. There are tons of instructions out there on the Internets about how to fake a lattè picture with your computer.

Well,bye!
