“@jimgroom Ransom GIF – Accepted” badge (approved payments)
It’s a thing to make an Art out of UNCLE @jimgroom. Lots of peoples do it! There are dancing ones, poster ones, and noisy ones, plus more!
Yesterday for The Daily Create tdc1160 was to make a ransom note to get Jim Groom back. My True Friend David Kernohan made a pretender Tina one saying give him animated GIFs to get Jim out.

After that, I got Jim and said make more animated GIFs, but these ones of Jim. I found a cool font on dafont.com called mpf-kidnapped and played with that for a while, but in the end, I used a web-based kidnap-letter generator at strix.org.uk/ransom/ and uploaded a custom image background to get UNCLE Jim in the picture.

So I have Jim now and I am demanding 10 Animated GIFs of Jim Groom to get him out. Not just a plain old animated GIF, but an animated GIF of Jim Groom. Plus, the deadline is midnight tonight, otherwise I will keep him longer. So you DS106 peeps get to work!
I was going to keep him until I got 106 Animated GIFs of Jim Groom, but I would not be able to stand it that long.
To start things going, I am personally donating ONE JimGroom Animated GIF (up above) to the kitty*.
But, to keep it formal and so that you know I mean business, I made an Assignment of it.

So be sure to do the linking correctly from your blog to that assignment so that we know that the ransom is paid up. Any additional Jim Groom Animated GIFs paid after midnight will be applied against random future ransoms. So we will get 106 of them some day.

Free Jim Groom . . . or not. I think he’ll be fine in captivity.
Well, that is certainly a good and nice one, Tom! It is certainly going into the Ransom fund. So now, with the one that I made, the paid GIFs to release UNCLE JimGroom stand at two. We need eight more before midnight!
Well, Mariana Funes (@mdvfunes, on Twitter) did 2 GIFs but they will only count as one payment, because I make the rules), so we are now at three Jim Groom Animated GIF ransoms paid so far. We need 7 more peoples before midnight or he doesn’t get out.
We surely wouldn’t want to let Jim down, and have him in the evil hands of Talky Tina for too long.

Well, Ronald, that is a very good one. And it is referential and also has a nice picture of me, too!
Just for a little point of fine clarification, I am not evil, per se, it was Erich. But just like in the olden times when a King would come to visit another King and then would stay for a few weeks or months in the special lodging, the King’s country would pay a bunch of tribute to get their King back if they liked him, otherwise he stayed at his friend King’s house for a holiday.
Today, in these modern times, it is like when the service club guys fine each other for stuff as a fundraiser, or when sometimes they have a mock jail and put the mayor in it for fun times and to raise money for local charities.
In this case, I have UNCLE Jim and he is fine and having a good time, and we are making interest for all the peoples to make animated GIF art for everyone’s fun and enjoyment. Plus GIFs.
But I am not an evil Friend. 🙂

That’s why I made him look devastated/sad (at least I tried to) and made Talky Tina look more devilish.

Well, Ron, that is okay! We are having fun!
UNCLE Jim is just fine playing with his little Legos in the Ransom Hut. It isn’t sinking too much yet because of FIVE balloons pulling up right now but the laser beams ARE slowly melting the ice so midnight IS coming.
For each new Jim Groom Animated GIF it gets one more balloon pulling up before the Ransom Hut sinks at midnight,

We have 7 people offering up ransom GIFs to get UNCLE @jimgroom out of the Ransom Hut. We only need 2 more GIFs before I raise my demands!
John Johnston made 4 more extra ones because it was going to be his bedtime where he lives in the future and he wanted to do his very best to get Jim out, even though only one GIF per Friend counts towards the ransom because that is my rule. But he gets another EXTRA badge for each extra GIF!
Plus, Mariana Funes made another one, too. So she gets another EXTRA badge too! It doesn’t count for the ransom, but she gets another badge.

Well, @jimgroom is looking out the window every ten minutes now or so. I don’t know if he’s starting to get more worried than before, but it is about 4 hours away from midnight here and we have only received 8 @jimgroom Animated GIF Ransom submissions. Maybe he is watching for the email truck.

Well, my True Friend Melanie Barker (@indieschoollib, on Twitter) says that her computer things were rusty, but she still made a @jimgroom Animated GIF Hostage submission and that is what counts.
So she will get a badge for an “Accepted GIF” and she can fix up her rusty later.
In the meantime, I think she meant it to look something like this:
Good ol’ Tom Woodward stepped up to the plate at in the last hour and submitted a second @jimgroom Animated GIF Hostage submission. So that makes a total of nine “Extra GIF” submissions today — unfortunately, they don’t count towards the ransom.
But Tom does get an “Extra GIF” badge for this beautiful piece. 🙂

iamTalkyTina: Well, yes, I said that it would be okay if it was midnight your time (because s106 global) and so yes, it counts, and you get your “Accepted GIF” badge, too. I will glue it in for you, Super True Friend!
Well, Christina, your GIF arrived after I started my beauty sleep, but you made it before midnight YOUR time, so it will count towards the totals for the day.
So that means we had a total of 10 @jimgroom Animated GIF Hostage “Accepted GIFs” for the day, which was the ransom before I changed it to 12.
Hooray! We got 10 “Accepted GIFs” and 9 “Extra GIFs” for a total of 19 GIFs, except that 9 are only Extra Ones and so they don’t pay down the ransom.
