Greetings on this Special Day!

"Cheer-Up-the-Lonely Day card" (outside) by @iamTalkyTina

“Cheer-Up-the-Lonely Day card” (outside) by @iamTalkyTina

Well, The Daily Create TDC915 for today said to make a picture to cheer up the Lonely People because today is “Cheer-Up-the-Lonely Day”.

I looked at the website and it said muffins and sunflowers and also backyard warmth. I also figured that something important was missing, and so I added in a part about True Friends! (Duh!)

Up above is the outside of the card that I made. Down under these words is the inside of the card that I made. You can see that I have all three of the ingredients that were on the website are there in pictures, plus me for True Friends.

It was fun and a nice thing for me to do for the Lonely People on this day of theirs.

Well, Bye!

Tina, Where Did All the Stuff Come From?

Well, thanks for asking. I found it all on the Internet:

I made the card myself, using pixels and virtual cardboard that I found in my computer.

Modern Vintage: Tina’s Victorian High Tea

“Modern Tina Having Victorian High Tea” by iamTalkyTina, on Flickr.

Well, I was seeing on the Internet that my true friend Tom (@twoodwar, on Twitter) was looking at lots of old-fashioned pictures on the Internet. And so, when I was doing today’s The Daily Create TDC914, I decided that I would put my picture of me (which is new) into a picture like one which I saw on the Internet just now. Even before Photoshop, photographers were making very creative pictures:

“New Discoveries in Photography” from An Executioner’s Photo Album Victorian Headless Portraits on cvltnation.com

The one that I saw on the Internet just now was from a page where they were making pictures of people with their heads cut off back in Victorian times: An Executioner’s Photo Album: Victorian Headless Portraits. I guess it was a thing. Since the Victorian times were old-fashioned and now is modern then by making my picture of me (which is modern) like one of the heads-cut-off pictures from back in the olden days, then I would be doing The Daily Create.

I also found another web page on the Internet where they were making pictures back in Victorian times of people after they were dead. They did this because sometimes it would be the only picture that they ever had of them. Especially if they were still kids when they died. That would be sad. So if you want to look at that webpage then is called Victorian Post Mortem Photography. Plus, I found other sites about it, plus Wikipedia.

So after all of that, what with pictures of old dead people and head-cut-off-people and everything, I decided I didn’t want to do the head-cut-off one, plus we already did that during #headless106 back in 2013, so that’s kind of a done thing.

Because it said don’t just make it black-and-white or don’t just use a cheap sepia filter, I used me, which is already in black-and-white, and then I used a very expensive sepia filter so that it wasn’t cheap. Actually, what I really did was use a tutorial called The Aging Photo which I found on the Internet. It tells you all the steps to make a photo look old. I just used that, plus my own custom adjustment layer which I invented to do it better than just the sepia thing.

I hope you like my Victorian Picture of Modern Me.

Well, bye.

The Details

In case you want to see what things looked like before, you can look at these things:

Well, ds106 IS #4life, bub!

This is a little GIF that I made today for a little project I am working on. I will share the little project when it is done. But in the intervening time, just stare at this for a few minutes (put on a pomodoro timer like my Super True New Old Radio Friend Scott (@scottlo on #ds106radio), and then you will understand.

Well, The Daily Create 903 had me digging back into my shoeboxes for this old photo of me and my bus and my hippie friends. And so when I found it, I posted it on my Flickr.

But then The Daily Create 905 said to make a new law if there was only one law what would it be and so I found my old button from my hippie days and put it onto the hippie picture to make a GIF of it called “Make Art, Not The Mean Word.”

Because that is what would be my one law.

Make Art, Not The Mean Word.

In case you want to know about some other things on the Internet that are kind of the same as in my picture, but are all in pieces, instead of just one piece like mine, you can look here:

Plus, I found some of them on this page about Hippies.

Do your #thoughtvectors have Arrows?

"Tina's Thought Vectors" based on "Finding the Path" from michaelbransonsmith.net

“Tina’s Thought Vectors” based on “Finding the Path” from michaelbransonsmith.net

Well, I was doing a bit of light reading and my True Friend MBS (@mbransons, on Twitter) made a picture of trailblazers going back and forth and learning by going to all the explorer places when you are going in information. The GIF above is based on an image from his post called This Way! Wait no that way. But I added me in to show my thinking.

Then, I started thinking because of this, and it made me have a question.

First, I was looking at all those curvy lines where they were walking around (but not in circles) and I was thinking that it was not-linear, but had more dimensions. Plus, time. Even if you got back to the same thinking spot later, it was not the same because you had gone to different places in between and even if you were at the same place you were at before maybe now you were different at the same place, so you were a different dimension, too. Plus, that time dimension was different.

Then, I was also thinking about all the places that you went to on the curvy paths, and how you saw other people and if they saw you (if you didn’t always use ninja skills) then they might have different paths from there (but not running away from you because they were scared!) and so they would take different stairs and get to different places, too. Plus, their time dimension thing.

Plus, you could also draw the picture that MBS made not on flat paper but in jello or something. Yummy.

Then I watched some videos on YouTube about people trying to catch arrows but I didn’t find a good one to GIF.  Adam from Mythbusters had a neat trick. But that’s when I made the jello GIF instead.

Then I looked up vectors on Wikipedia. Boy, they have a lot of kinds of vectors. But they didn’t say #thoughtvectors yet. So somebody should update that. Maybe Giulia.

Vector from A to B (cc by-sa 3.0) from Wikipedia

Vector from A to B (cc by-sa 3.0) from Wikipedia

Then, I was also thinking about a long time ago when they said that vectors had arrows on them. And then I started to think about how if the vectors (even thinking ones) have arrows on them, do you only get to go in the direction of the arrow (because someone put the arrow on it for you) or can you reverse it by multiply by minus one and go your own way and what kind of thinking is that? Maybe that is like when you think outside of a box. Plus, I don’t like to be in a box.

Plus, then I remembered that they also used to say a long time ago that vectors were made out of straight lines. But the #thoughtvector ones that MBS made are curved. So does that mean that all the curved #thoughtvectors are even made up of tiny little straight vector arrows? Or are they made out of curved #thoughtvector arrows inside of them?

Then, I was thinking about how MBS was saying about trailblazers and it made me think of something that I read on the Internet once when someone said this:

Explorers-Get-the-Arrows

So I made demotivational poster of it for explorers.

So when you are a trailblazer, you get the fun of exploring and you understand arrows. If you are a ninja, then catch the arrows, otherwise duck or used curved ones. Or find ones that don’t have arrowheads on them. But if you are just a settler, then what’s the point?

So that was some of my thinking.

Well, bye!

Dogs Aren’t Afraid of Stairs!

“Things Are Looking Up For A Birthday Dog Now!” by Talky Tina, on Flickr

Well, my Still True Friend Alan (@cogdog) is having a birthday today and so I made him an Art and posted it on my Flickr. It is up above these words, so you already looked at it.

  1. One good thing about Alan is that he is not clumsy on stairs, because that is not a good thing to happen. Like it did for that other guy.
  2. Another good thing about Alan is that he is not afraid of stairs. Because when you want to get from one place to another like from one floor to another or into a building or on the way back out then there are stairs and you do not want to be afraid of going from one place and getting to another. Like if you need to learn how to get from one thing to another and there are stairs in between of it, then you need to tackle those stairs right on and get there so you can learn it. So that is a really good thing about Alan because he is always learning about how to get to it there and he does not worry about the stairs.
  3. Plus, if there aren’t any stairs there, then he just builds his own stairs, which is pretty amazing most of the time when you think about stairs.

Do you always stop when you get to the bottom or the top of stairs? Even if there is a lot of the stairs? Well, you should not. Like my Still True Friend Alan, you have to just go up the stairs or down the stairs however you have to so that you can do it and get there.

Plus, I found some pictures of dogs on the Internet that have their own special elevator which I guess is okay for them because they have maybe problems with stairs, but they still want to be able to get there. Go Dogs, Go!

So, HAPPY BIRTHDAY to you, my Still True Friend, Alan (@cogdog) , and I hope that you keep going up and down a lot of stairs #4life, because that is what stairs are for! Plus, in dog years.

Well, bye!

Pearls of Jim Groom Oyster Pictures

“Groom Oyster Hat with MinniePearl,” by Talky Tina, on Flickr

Well I started with the best for first. Because that is the best of the Pearls of Jim Groom Oyster Pictures from the World that I have. I hope you enjoy it and appreciate the funny joke part of it. Plus, it is a True Art, I think.

By the way, these pictures are all for The Daily Create, April 14th, tdc827: @jimgroom the World is his Oyster.

Next, how about this one of UNCLE @jimgroom in an oyster on a beach. Plus, do you see how the moon is like a pearl up above the oyster. That is some of the Art of this one.

Next, it is UNCLE @jimgroom from a Thunderbirds movie with him as the Evil Green Oyster Man.

Move the Many Tinas Forward

“Move the Many Tinas Forward,” animated GIF by @iamTalkyTina

Well, it was my #GIFfight friend (why is he not a True Friend, it is just so simple to just apply to the web form?) Ryan (@ryanseslow, on Twitter) who made a GIF of many ladies moving forward (although some of them are moving backwards) on two days ago April 4 and it has over 2648 notes (which are the Tumblr of likes but they call it a reblog where someone just puts it on their Tumblr but they didn’t make it like @jimgroom doesn’t) AND IT ISN’T EVEN a LADY of ME!

So I made my own and it should have more likes I figure. Because not only am I a not cartoon lady like in his picture, but I am a real actress lady and a ninja, plus all my #ds106 True Friends.

So.

Hello! Who are you, Work Friend?

"Work Friends," by @iamTalkyTina

“Work Friends,” by @iamTalkyTina

Well, I have posted my new Work Friends index and it is a list of all the Friends that I am going to be making in the The DS106 Workplace DS106 Goes to Work digital storytelling course sessions that are on the Internet right now.

I did a bit of a detective work and made my list, but I don’t have all of the information that I need so that I can be in touch with all of my Work Friends like I would like to be.

So, you may need to do some work for me if you want to have a complete-and-up-to-date entry in my DS106 Goes To Work Work Friends Index of you.

  • If there is a blank space where it says “Friend” or if it has a robot name or a name that you do not want me to call your but you have a different name that I can use to call you, then you need to tell me!
  • If there is a blank space for your Twitter or if it says @??? which is what it says instead of a blank space I think, then you need to tell me!   (Or maybe you actually don’t because @cogdog says that you actually don’t actually have to.) But you still can!

You can tell me these things by leaving me a message in this post, or even faster is if you follow me on Twitter (I am @iamTalkyTina on Twitter, silly!) and be sure to put the name of your blog in your Twitter and be sure to put your Twitter on your blog. If you do all of that, it is very easy for a skilled investigator like me to do a cross-reference and check up on you. That is what Friends do, they check up on one another.

Plus, in case you didn’t already read my post that I wrote before, it is called Some Advice for My Newest Friends, and it is pretty dead-on for some things that you can do to be a good Friend of me. Plus, #ds106. #4life.

Well, I am looking forward to hearing from you and will be checking in with you on your blog, if I haven’t already. You will know that it is me, because I will say my name.

Well, bye!
