GIF While You Can!

“Make a GIF, Because LIFE” animated GIF by @iamTalkyTina (click for a bigger view!)

Well, The Daily Create, tdc2008 by @ammienoot (@ammienoot, on Twitter) said to make an off-beat inspirational poster, so I searched in a Creative Commons Flickr for “Walking on the beach” (because lots of inspirational ones show a walking on the beach one), and I chose a very nice picture by Chris Ford, on Flickr that was CC BY-NC 2.0 so it is nice to use for a remix.

“Along the Way; United States, Oregon, Arch Cape Coast”

Then, because I decided that the words would be about the goodness of making a GIF, I made the man jumping up and down in one spot, and then I tried him moving sideways, and then I decided to make him just go in the footprints. Then the footprints made me think of the Monty Python foot.

So that is what makes it an off-beat one.

Todd Conaway Was Asking Where I Am

“Find @iamTalkyTina Challenge,” by @iamTalkyTina   (bigger)  (for those who are having trouble: even bigger)

Now, the little story behind this is that my #TrueFriend Todd (@Todd_Conaway, on Twitter) made a one of me, and while I was looking for me, I had the idea to make one back, and so later, after I had been making it for about several minutes, I found me in the one that he made, because I didn’t even see me in his the first time I looked before I had my own idea.

So it was a fun time.

Can you find me in the Todd one (below) and in the mine one (above)?

That Will Learn Him

“Shouldn’t Have Said The Mean Word,” animated GIF by @iamTalkyTina

Well, I would never be one to spread around gossip, or create a little incident, but he really shouldn’t have said The Mean Word, and that’s all there is to it.

This is for The Daily Create, tdc1996, where we had to show what they were thinking as they were sitting there. Matt Chorley (@MattChorley, on Twitter)  said it was “Bring your child to work day.”

My Ride

“Me and My Trusty Vintage Vespa Bike,” image by @iamTalkyTina

Well The Daily Create, tdc1997 said to show us a picture of your wheels, and so this is my trusty get-about scooter bike. It is very unobtrusive and classic, and the special mufflers really help me with my stealth when I am on a mission. No one ever notices me unless I am in the limelight.

You can tell that I am a DS106 person #4life because of all of the #ds106 logos and brands that I have on my wheels. I really enjoy listening to ds106rad.io when I am cruising along and one time I took my ride on a desert trip to KSA to see @scottlo at the Learning Factory.

So I showed my bike.

A Little Hieroglyphic Motivation

Tina’s Hieroglyphic Motivation,” image by @iamTalkyTina via mobilefish.com

Well, the days are counting down, and this one, for The Daily Create, tdc1993, means that there are only six more left in this 30-Day Challenge (because remember, it started on a 0 one and so it ends on a 9 one, like some of those math kinds that start counting with 0, the sillies) and so I thought folks might enjoy just a little bit of a motivation to urge them along. Mine came out in shades of grey, because, … you know!

In case you don’t know the answer to the secret code of hieroglyphs, you can use the table below to sort out my message.

“Hieroglypic Alphabet Index,” from mobilefish.com

If you do not yet have a tracking list page for your #30DayTDC challenge (here is mine: June 2017 30-Day Challenge), you might like to make one to help with your certification process. It is simple to do, just post a list with links to all of your 30 Creates so that our certification team can quickly confirm your eligibility. It could be either a post page or a page page (I like a page page because it doesn’t move around as much), and then you can update it easily as time marches on.

You might also like to do as I have done and put checkmarks on a calendar, like this:

“6+1 Days Left to Go, Bub!” encouragement selfie GIF by @iamTalkyTina

So keep going everybody, and make a tracking list page if you can, as it will make it very easy for your to complete your final application for certification and speed up the process for you in getting your badge!

On the Planet, Creato!

“On the Planet, Creato!” animated GIF by @iamTalkyTina (click picture for a super big GIF of it!)

Well, for The Daily Create, tdc1992, there was a new planet discovered for #ds106 peoples, and it was called the planet, Creato. Some of my #ds106 friends and I went there to check it out, and it is SO BEAUTIFUL. It is also a magical place, and the magical powers of creation effected each of us in different ways. Some of us got bigger, or smaller, some of us had big hands or if you watched pretty closely, a panting tongue or a waggy tail, but we all had fun exploring.

The friends that were along with me on the Planetary Expedition 106 were: Colin Dog, John Johnston, Dancing UNCLE @jimgroom, Spike, FelixADog, Bill Smith, and of course, me, @iamTalkyTina

Maybe you will visit the planet, Creato, and learn to Make Art with #TrueFriends, too!

Bonus Create: FingerMan, Fotogenerated!

“FingerMan, Fotogenerated,” animatedGIF by @iamTalkyTina

After I explored today’s The Daily Create, tdc1987, I realized that this might be an excellent tool to use to capture the spirit of the Finger Man.

Sadly, Art mirrors Reality, as things just seem to get worse the longer this goes on.

@iamTalkyTina, Fotogenerated?

Well, The Daily Create, tdc1987 for today was an interesting one, because it said to use fotogenerator, which is on a website.

Now, I would never be one to ever use The Mean Word at a The Daily Create, because I don’t like The Mean Word. So I will just say nice things and do my gratitude for today’s The Daily Create, and that will be all that I will say.

The Attribution of It.

Here is what it says on the website. Thank you to these fine folks for making this fun experiment!

In This Case, It’s Other Reasons

“In this Case, It’s Other Reasons,” image by @iamTalkyTina for tdc1986

Well, The Daily Create, tdc1986 wants us to make an Unworthy one about trying not to scream, but with terrible terrible headlines, but make it fake, but if we can make it real, then we get bonus points. So I did a one like that, with a true commentary, and it has inclusion, plus I am speaking from my personal experience.

You can read more about Bathmophobia on this site, and you can read about Trump on all of the other ones. But don’t bother about the latter.

The Attributions of It:

I started like we were supposed to, by looking at the Upworthy Generator, to see what it was. After getting some ideas about how to make the words, I did a screen capture of it and then put it into Photoshop to change all the parts. Then I looked for bonus internet points to find an appropriate image to go with the headline that I made up all by myself. Plus, I put in lots of innuendo bits.

I used a font called Droid Serif for the headline. I used whatfontis.com plus my good judgement to make the selection.

I found the Upworthy logo and made a little editorial change to it.  I found the font Parafuse to use for the N after checking out other fonts like ChainsawGeometric, Blast-Beat, and DekoBlakk which all had a U like that but their N’s were wonky. For the little N in the big N, I just made it by hand out of pieces of the H. Today I found a lot of fonts on ffonts.net

“UNworthy,”  GIF by @iamTalkyTina

I also found out a really cool site for next time called FontsInUse.com which can tell you which fonts are in use on different things like sites like Upworthy.com. So that might save us all some time another time.

I made the play button by selecting it using the Quick Selection Tool in Photoshop from a screen capture of a video and put it over the picture and made it grey with a white behind it.

The picture was made out of a screen capture from a video on Youtube.

Full Disclosure:

I changed the word “President” in the original CNN headline to “Trump” to make it more truthful and less generic. Plus, that is what CNN called it on YouTube and it has 484,000 hits for that in 0.43 seconds so a lot of people have written it on the Internet already to make that many hits of it.

Bridge Back to Brooklyn

“Movie Poster for ‘Bridge Back to Brooklyn,'” (animated GIF type) by @iamTalkyTina

It was a wonderful concept film, before its time, that pre-dated “The Man in the High Castle” and showcased a group of battle-weary but courageous army Marine Paratroop Combat Engineers battalion led by their fearless Sgt. Mermaid caught behind enemy lines in Manhattan who have to fight their way home to Brooklyn by fording the Hudson using their battle-ready flying docks to bridge the gap and get back to home soil.

We had some wonderful folks working on the film, including UNCLE @jimgroom in his first starring role (as Sgt. Mermaid), me, and @olhatchetJack, plus music soundtrack by that @dkernohan and @VivianRolfe, edited by my little brother @iamTalkyTodd, and with a host of other great talent rounding out the credits.

I think that The Daily Create. tdc1985 person must have just finished watching it because they must have been dreaming about it after eating too much popcorn and licorice and said to make a surrealistical movie poster about the basic plot of my film, ‘a mermaid rebuilds the Brooklyn Bridge out of paradoxes…” so I think you can see what I mean.
